Xiaoyou Interactive LTD. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains our data protection practices and describes the types of information we may process when you install and/or use our mobile application (the “App”).

“Personal data” (or “personal information”) means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users and others who access the App (“Users”). For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we act as the data controller unless otherwise stated.

Information We Process

We process several categories of information:

1. Functional Information

This information is necessary to perform our contract with you and provide core App functionality:

• Activity Information: We may access your camera roll solely to analyze document metadata (e.g., file format, number of pages) and determine available editing tools. However, we do not collect, store, or use the actual content of your documents. All scanned documents remain stored locally on your device and are inaccessible to us or any third party. Only you can choose to share them via export features.
• Contact Information: When you contact us via email or support forms (e.g., name, email address, message content), we collect and store this data using our cloud storage provider (Amazon.com, Inc.) to respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests.

2. Automatically Processed Information

When you use the App, certain non-personal or aggregated data about your device and usage behavior may be collected automatically via third-party analytics and advertising tools (e.g., Firebase, Facebook). This processing begins upon your first launch of the App and is based on our legitimate interest in improving the App and user experience.

The following types of data may be processed:

• Device Details: Device type, OS version, model, manufacturer, screen size/density, orientation, audio volume, battery level, memory usage.
• Network Information: Mobile carrier, network provider/type, IP address, session timestamps/duration, connection speed, browser.
• Location-Related Data: Country/region/state/city derived from IP or SIM card, language, time zone, nearby points of interest (e.g., “coffee shop”).
• Device Identifiers: IDFA (iOS), Advertising ID or Android ID (Android), or custom user identifiers set by the App.
• App Information: App name, version, API key, and properties; some services may also record installed or running applications.
• Cookies & Similar Technologies: Small data files stored on your device to track usage patterns (e.g., feature engagement, ad clicks) for analytics and personalization.
• Log Files: Automatically recorded each time you access the App, including timestamps and interaction details.
• Ad-Related Data: Ad impressions, clicks, conversions, ad type, placement, and your response.
• In-App Events: Tutorial progress, level-ups, payments, purchases, and custom events.

Please note: This automatically collected data is generally processed by third parties outside our direct control. We are not responsible for how these partners use your data. If your user ID is linked to Facebook, Facebook may combine device data with its own profile information (e.g., age, gender). For such data, please contact the relevant third party directly.

3. Payment Information

All in-app purchases are handled by platform providers (Apple, Google, or Huawei). They process and secure your payment details (including credit/debit card information). We do not have access to your financial data.

4. User-Submitted Information

We may invite you to voluntarily submit reference materials to help us improve our document processing technologies. Your participation is entirely optional and greatly appreciated.

Purposes of Processing

We use your information to:

1. Provide and operate the App;
2. Improve, test, and monitor App performance and user experience;
3. Deliver interest-based advertising and personalized content;
4. Communicate with you (e.g., respond to support requests, send policy updates);
5. Prevent fraud, spam, security breaches, and enforce our Terms of Use.

If we introduce new processing purposes, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

Sharing of Your Information

We do not rent or sell your personal data. We may share non-identifiable or aggregated data (e.g., device identifiers, location data, log files) with trusted third-party service providers for analytics, hosting, and advertising purposes, including:

We are not responsible for third parties’ handling of your data beyond our instructions. The App may contain links to external sites; we are not liable for their privacy practices.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred across borders, including to countries (such as the U.S.) that may not provide the same level of data protection as your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We take reasonable steps to ensure recipients implement adequate safeguards.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide services or comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax, audit). You may request deletion of your account and data at any time.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data;
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Request deletion of your data;
• Restrict processing under certain circumstances;
• Object to processing for direct marketing.

How to Opt Out

Marketing & Personalized Ads

• iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > toggle off “Allow Apps to Request to Track” and enable “Limit Ad Tracking.” More info
• Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > enable “Opt out of Ads Personalization.”
• Visit youradchoices.com for additional opt-out options.

Note: Opting out stops interest-based ads but not contextual ads.

Location Data

• iOS 11+: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > [App Name] > select “Never.” More info
• Android 5.0+: Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions > Location > disable.

Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. Data is encrypted where feasible. However, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a breach, we will notify you as required by law.

Children’s Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data promptly. Please contact us if you believe we may have data from a child under 13.
